Fukuoka, at
your own pace.

Meet old Hakata through its shrines and craft, spend an afternoon beside Ohori, or make room for Dazaifu and the coast. Choose one area and give it time.

A good place to begin

Art, water and a slower afternoon.

Choose an exhibition at Fukuoka Art Museum, then follow the pond and island paths at Ohori. Our half-day walk leaves room for a break.

City walks and day trips need different plans

Hakata is a compact base for shrines, craft and shopping. Ohori pairs art with an easy park walk. Dazaifu and Itoshima are separate cities in Fukuoka Prefecture; Nokonoshima needs a ferry and island transport, while Uminonakamichi deserves a substantial travel and visiting block.

Check calendars before travelling: seasonal Tuesday closures apply at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, and Marine World announces a sea-lion and dolphin show pause from 12 January to 9 April 2027. Workshops need their own arrangements. Visit lengths are editorial estimates.
