Choose between collection and special show
The Cultural Exchange Exhibition and special exhibitions have different ticket arrangements. A special-exhibition ticket also admits you to the Cultural Exchange Exhibition. Check the current programme and leave enough time if you want both; a short stop is unlikely to do justice to two substantial exhibitions.
Plan the shrine around the museum
Museum closing and last-entry times should anchor a Dazaifu half-day. Some special-exhibition Saturdays extend to 19:00, but do not assume that every weekend has late opening. Check the official calendar, including year-end closures, before buying transport or arranging a late arrival.
