Osaka, beyond
the obvious.
Find a museum worth an afternoon, a shopping street with everyday character, or a tea stop beside the river. Start with one district; give Ikeda, Suita and Sakai their own travel time.

A good place to begin
Art, riverside architecture, then tea.
Choose an exhibition in Nakanoshima, walk to the Central Public Hall and finish in Kitahama. Our half-day walk leaves room for the details.

Keep the city and prefecture distinct
Nakanoshima is a natural base for art and architecture. Tenma and Nakazakicho work together for shopping and cafés; Namba connects the market, kitchenware street and temple lanes. Ikeda, Suita and Sakai are separate cities in Osaka Prefecture, with additional train journeys.
Book making and tea experiences separately. Check museum calendars before committing to a date: the Museum of Oriental Ceramics is omitted because its official site lists renovation closure until around April 2027. Visit lengths are editorial estimates.
