Tea in a small historic building.
Kitahama Retro turns a 1912 commercial building into a British-style tea stop beside the Nakanoshima area. Allow time to sit down with tea and something sweet after a museum or architectural walk.

Make the tea room the pause
Look at the current menu and choose the size of break you want. A full afternoon-tea order and a quick cup are different plans. Allow for waiting at busy times, and check the shop’s current reservation policy instead of assuming a table will be available.
Pair it with the riverside
The Central Public Hall and Tekijuku make useful companions, but keep museum closing times in mind if tea comes first. The tearoom is upstairs in a historic building; confirm access directly if stairs are a concern. The exterior photograph dates from 2008.
