Kyoto, a little
more slowly.
Find a garden worth lingering in, a museum that changes how you look, or a coffee stop between neighbourhoods. Start with one area and leave room for the details.

A good place to begin
A garden, then the neighbourhood.
Reserve Murin-an, choose a nearby museum and continue to Nanzenji. Our Okazaki walk connects them with time for a break.

Plan around one part of Kyoto
Okazaki works well for museums and a garden. Central Kyoto combines coffee, shopping and a choice of museums. Southern Higashiyama connects temples with an artist’s home. Fushimi and northern Arashiyama deserve their own travel time.
Check museum closing days before choosing the date. Reserve Murin-an and any workshops separately; a general museum visit does not guarantee an activity. Visit lengths are editorial estimates.
