Kyoto · Okazaki

Make art the anchor of an Okazaki afternoon.

A grand museum building and a changing exhibition programme give you two reasons to visit. Choose the art you want to see, then leave time to notice the architecture and the surrounding cultural district.

Choose an exhibition, not just a building

The collection and special exhibitions have different tickets. Check what is on during your stay and book any timed exhibition separately. A photograph of the building does not tell you which works will be on display.

Keep the rest of the day nearby

The craft museum and Murin-an make natural companions, but three substantial visits can fill most of an afternoon. If you have a garden reservation, leave enough margin to finish the exhibition and walk to the next entrance.
