Follow the water through a city garden.

A pond, streams and changing viewpoints invite a slower walk at Tokugawaen. Use it as the outdoor half of a museum afternoon, or come simply to spend time among water, stones and planting.

Walk for the changing view

Look back across the pond as you move rather than treating the garden as a single photo point. Seasonal colour changes the atmosphere, but a photograph taken in another year cannot predict peak foliage or flowering for your visit. Check special opening notices if planning an evening visit.

Choose a pairing that fits

The neighbouring Tokugawa Art Museum is the simplest addition. Shirotori is another garden elsewhere in the city, so allow travel time if comparing both. Combined ticket products have their own conditions; garden admission alone does not include museum galleries or dining.
