Hokkaido · Sapporo
Read the city through a red-brick brewery.
Brewing history gives this brick landmark its purpose. Choose a short self-guided exhibition visit or reserve the longer guided programme, then leave a tasting as a separate decision. This is a museum, not a tour of a working production line.

Choose the format first
Self-guided entry is now paid; older descriptions of a free museum visit are out of date. The guided programme is conducted in Japanese, with additional paid audio-device options. Self-guided visitors can use the available multilingual smartphone audio with their own earphones.
Keep the brewery destinations distinct
Sapporo’s museum and the working Hokkaido Brewery in Eniwa are different destinations. Check the guided-tour calendar, which has Monday restrictions even when the museum is open. A tasting is optional; non-drinkers can visit for the building and exhibition.
