Move between archaeological evidence and reconstructed space.
This Jomon settlement site combines excavated remains, museum displays and reconstructed buildings. Start with the interpretation so that the outdoor structures become a way to think about past lives, rather than scenery alone.

Distinguish remains from reconstruction
The standing timber structures help visitors imagine scale, but they are modern reconstructions informed by archaeological work. Use the museum to connect the visible buildings with excavated objects and evidence. Give the open-air area time rather than making one tower photograph the entire visit.
Pair archaeology with art
Aomori Museum of Art is roughly a ten-minute walk away in ordinary conditions. Check both calendars and allow more time in winter. The site also has administrative closure days and separate special-exhibition fees; a longer guided or hands-on programme needs additional planning.
