Give the galleries as much time as the building.
White architecture and carefully framed spaces make this museum memorable before you reach the collection. Choose the current exhibition, then leave time to look at how the rooms and outdoor spaces shape the experience.

Choose the exhibition first
Collection displays and special exhibitions have different ticket conditions. Check what is on view rather than planning around a single work being permanently available. The architecture rewards a slower passage through the building, with time to pause between galleries.
Plan the Aomori Dog approach by season
The outdoor route to Yoshitomo Nara’s Aomori Dog closes when snow conditions require it and includes stairs. The museum describes viewing from inside through glass as the year-round option during opening. Nearby Sannai-Maruyama makes a useful second visit, but allow daylight and a separate ticket.
