Let the city slow down beside the water.
A large pond, islands and bridges make Ohori Park an easy place to spend an unhurried morning. Walk a section of the water’s edge, cross the island paths and leave room for the neighbouring art museum.

You do not need to complete the circuit
The islands offer a different view from the outer path. Choose a short lakeside section if you are saving energy for galleries, or make the park the main outing with a seated break. Give runners room and follow the markings for different path users.
Keep the garden and museum distinct
The paid Japanese garden and Fukuoka Art Museum have their own opening calendars. Park access does not include either. Check those before planning a Monday visit or arriving late in the day, and treat boat hire as an optional activity rather than a guaranteed part of the walk.
