Osaka · Kitahama / Yodoyabashi
A small historic school among office blocks.
Tekijuku preserves the setting of an Edo-period school in central Osaka. Its modest scale makes a useful contrast to the large museum buildings and commercial streets nearby. Come for the rooms and the story of study, rather than a long exhibition circuit.

Make room for the small details
A historic school rewards a different pace from a large museum. Read the interpretation and notice how the rooms were used. Follow staff directions inside and keep luggage light; ask in advance about access if historic building circulation may be difficult.
Check the unusual holiday pattern
Monday is normally closed, except national holidays. The day following a national holiday can also be closed, with weekend and holiday exceptions. Check the university calendar before linking this stop with the Public Hall or Kitahama Retro. Last-minute arrival is unwise with a 16:00 closing.
