A red-brick pause beside the river.
This historic public hall gives a Nakanoshima walk an architectural centre. Look at the façade and its setting before deciding whether to add an exhibition-area visit, a guided tour or a separately ticketed performance.

An exterior visit and a tour are different
The grand rooms are not all available for casual entry. Use the official tour programme if the interiors are your priority, and check dates, charges and language arrangements. The basement exhibition area offers a shorter introduction when accessible.
Pair architecture with a slower stop
Cross toward Kitahama for tea, or continue along the river after a museum visit. A concert or event requires its own schedule and ticket; do not treat the building’s late closing as a promise of evening sightseeing access to every room.
