Choose a clear evening for the city below.

A short ropeway ride connects Motomachi’s lower station with the mountain viewpoint. Weather and queues shape the visit more than the ride itself, so keep the timing flexible and make the view an optional finish to a bay-area afternoon.

Check operation before leaving the waterfront

The announced maintenance period runs through 8 November 2026. Outside planned closures, weather can still affect operation and visibility. Consult the operator on the day and avoid buying into a rigid dinner schedule that leaves no room for queues.

Separate the walk from the ride

A Motomachi walking route can finish at the lower station, but the mountain ascent is a separate paid journey. The night photograph shows a past view from the mountain; cloud, light and season will change the scene. Allow time for the return queue as well as the ascent.
