Watch the small movements in a world of jellyfish.

Jellyfish make this coastal aquarium a distinctive reason to travel beyond central Tsuruoka. Give the tanks time and check the current programme, rather than rushing toward one large display and leaving immediately.

Use the current floor plan

The aquarium renewed its facilities in 2026, so old photographs and floor plans may show an earlier arrangement. Follow the present visitor route and compare different forms and movements in the tanks. The exterior photograph here predates that renewal and is included as an archival location view.

Check the approach before driving

The operator currently warns of a landslide closure on Route 50 between Imaizumi and Aburado. The coastal approach from Yura is unavailable; follow the official detour guidance. Leave transport time outside the aquarium visit and check the return service if travelling by bus.
