Asakusa
Start with a different view of Asakusa.
Across from Kaminarimon, this visitor centre combines a practical information desk with a free eighth-floor terrace. Go up before exploring the streets below: the view helps put Nakamise, the temple district and Tokyo Skytree into context.

Look up, then look out
The stacked rooflines make the building worth noticing from street level. Upstairs, use the terrace as a first look at the neighbourhood rather than rushing straight into the shopping street.
Make it your first stop
Collect local information before heading to a workshop or café. A terrace visit fits easily around a timed booking at Sokichi; allow extra time at the lifts on busy days.
