Follow the wooded approach to the Golden Hall.
A hillside approach and a sequence of temple spaces lead to Chuson-ji’s celebrated Golden Hall. Give the museum and surrounding precinct time as well: the visit is richer when the craftsmanship is seen within its Buddhist setting.

Know what the photograph shows
The exterior photograph shows the protective building around the Konjikido, not the gilded hall itself. Buy the appropriate ticket to see the Golden Hall and Sankozo collection. Temporary special viewings may use separate or combined tickets; they are not automatically part of standard entry.
Arrive well before last entry
The temple’s winter closing time starts on 4 November. A last-minute ticket leaves little time for the museum and approach, so make this a substantial daytime visit. Keep worshippers’ space clear and follow the photography guidance inside the protected cultural-property areas.
