Fukuoka · Itoshima City
The white gate, two rocks and an open horizon.
On Itoshima’s coast, a white torii frames two offshore rocks connected by a sacred rope. Make time to look at the coastline as well as take a photograph, and plan the journey back before settling in for sunset.

A coast visit is more than a sunset promise
Light, wind and clouds change the experience, and no sunset colour is guaranteed. Keep to public visitor areas and avoid stepping into rough water for a photograph. The rocks and rope have a religious association; treat the setting with respect.
Give Itoshima its own travel time
Ichiran no Mori is another Itoshima destination, but it is not a nearby walking stop. Link the two only after checking transport between them. A café stop can make a coastal outing more relaxed; confirm the specific café’s opening day instead of assuming every business follows the same schedule.
