Give the interiors time
The estate preserves a Western-style residence, a Japanese-style building and a billiards building. Their contrasting materials and scale make this more than a quick garden stroll. Follow the current route and photography notices inside.
Pair it with southern Ueno
This is a useful quieter anchor for a walk around the Shinobazu side of Ueno. Check conservation-work notices before a visit, especially if you are coming to see one particular room or architectural feature.
