Follow the golden flame.
Across the Sumida River from Asakusa, a giant gold flame rests on a black sculptural hall. Philippe Starck’s design makes the Asahi Group Hall, widely known as Super Dry Hall, an unmistakable riverside landmark.

Read the skyline
The black hall and its gold flame are separate from the adjacent beer-glass-shaped Asahi headquarters tower. The hall was built for Asahi’s centenary; its flame expresses the company’s ambition for the future.
Stop for a meal
Flamme d’Or operates inside the hall. Check its current menu, opening hours and reservation arrangements before planning a meal. Viewing the exterior and dining inside are different visits; this landmark is not a brewery tour.
Combine it with Asakusa
Take in the buildings from the bridge or opposite riverbank, then allow time to cross over for a closer look. Keep walking routes clear when taking photographs. It is a useful architectural stop between the river and an Asakusa afternoon.
