Sengawa · Kewpie food experience

Step inside the story of mayonnaise.

Mayoterrace turns a familiar bottle of Kewpie mayonnaise into an outing full of design, food history and everyday science. At the company’s Sengawa Kewport in Chofu, guided visits explore how mayonnaise is made and enjoyed. A giant bottle-shaped dome and vegetable-inspired furniture make the setting memorable before the explanations even begin.

Explore five spaces

The visit moves through spaces devoted to Kewpie’s history, the ingredients and flavour of mayonnaise, production methods and ways to enjoy vegetables. The wooden Mayonnaise Dome is modelled on a bottle at 500,000 times the volume of a 450-gram product. Factory Walk uses exhibits to explain manufacturing; this venue is an experience centre, rather than a live production-line tour.

Choose an English session

Kewpie asks foreign visitors to reserve the English course. Other sessions are conducted in Japanese. Use the official reservation page to check the current calendar, course length and activities. The Kitchen area introduces ways to enjoy vegetables and mayonnaise; check the selected session’s details and allergy information before booking.

Plan the visit with your group

The facility is aimed at elementary-school-age visitors and older. Children of elementary-school age or younger need a guardian. Groups of seven or more, wheelchair users and visitors needing assistance should contact the venue by telephone about arrangements. Check directly before bringing younger children.

A small excursion into western Tokyo

Mayoterrace normally closes on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, although some Saturdays open and additional closures occur. Make the confirmed session the anchor for your Sengawa visit. The reservation calendar is more useful than assuming it operates as a walk-in museum.
