Yanaka and Nezu Half-Day Walk

A former sculptor’s home, a neighbourhood shopping street and a shrine make a compact introduction to Yanaka and Nezu. Begin with the museum so a late lunch or a longer shop visit does not cost you the indoor stop.

Allow
3–4 hours including a food break
Walking
Approximately 35–55 minutes
Start / finish
Nippori / Nezu
Budget
Museum admission plus food; seasonal shrine areas extra

02 · Short walk · 45–60 minutes

Yanaka Ginza →

Browse slowly and take a lunch break. Shop opening hours differ, and busy lanes are easier to enjoy without a large suitcase. There are steps around the shopping-street approach.

03 · Walk south toward Nezu · 30–45 minutes

Nezu Shrine →

Finish with the shrine grounds and their quieter surroundings. Seasonal garden access is separate; the famous flower display is not a year-round feature.

Make the plan work for you

For the museum-focused version, check all opening days first. If Asakura is closed, enjoy the neighbourhood walk but do not treat its exterior as an equivalent museum visit. Uneven paths, steps and the museum’s indoor requirements make this a route to review carefully for mobility needs.
