Komaba
Look again at everyday objects.
The Japan Folk Crafts Museum gives handmade everyday objects the space usually reserved for fine art. Its domestic scale makes an appealing counterpoint to a shopping afternoon in nearby Shibuya.

Choose the current exhibition
Look for how shape, texture and use work together. Exhibitions change, so check the calendar rather than expecting every collection highlight to be on view. Allow an unhurried hour for the main building.
Plan for a historic building
Visitors change into slippers. The building has steps and access limitations, although the main building has an elevator. The former Yanagi residence across the road opens only on selected days; check separately before planning around it.
