Fuchu, Tokyo · Beer factory tour

Discover the home of The Premium Malt’s.

Suntory’s first beer factory opened in Fuchu in 1963, and The Premium Malt’s was born here. A reserved tour connects ingredients and brewing with a walk through a former storage tank, a VR experience and a tasting. It is an excursion into western Tokyo with a clear focus: how the beer in your glass is made.

Book and prepare for the visit

The adult course accepts online applications until noon three days before the visit. Tours are in Japanese; ask on arrival about automatic translation on your own smartphone. Production can stop on some days, when video replaces the working-line view. Soft drinks are available.

Plan the journey around the tasting

Use public transport if you want to taste beer. Visitors arriving as drivers of cars, motorcycles or bicycles cannot drink alcohol; Suntory also excludes motorcycle passengers. The facility normally opens 09:30–17:00, with the shop 11:00–16:50. Check factory holidays and temporary closures.
